Deceptive content signal

Google Business Profile suspended for deceptive content or misleading information

When the suspension language points to deceptive content, misleading information, or misrepresentation, do not write an emotional appeal. Prepare a clean packet that shows the real business identity, services, contact details, and customer-facing facts.

What Google says to avoid

Google Business Profile Help describes deceptive content and behavior, including fake engagement, impersonation, misinformation, and misrepresentation that misleads users or omits important facts.

What to prove instead

The appeal packet should show that the profile facts are accurate: business name, address or service-area setup, phone, website, categories, operating status, and service claims.

Possible signalEvidence to prepareFix before appeal
Business name looks keyword-stuffed or different from documents.Registration, DBA, license, website header, and public customer-facing materials.Use the real-world business name and explain any DBA or rebrand clearly.
Website or landing page claims do not match the profile.Current website screenshots, service pages, contact page, and profile screenshot.Remove old phone numbers, unsupported locations, or services that are not actually offered.
Category or service claims look broader than the business can support.License, service proof, invoices with private details reviewed, and category notes.Keep only categories and services that the business can document.
Address, office, or service area may confuse users.Service-area notes, address visibility status, registration, and proof of real service activity.Do not imply a staffed storefront if the business is service-area only.
Reviews, photos, posts, or profile content may look promotional or misleading.Inventory of recent content changes and screenshots of current profile facts.Remove content that is unrelated, unclear, or not based on genuine business activity.

Write from facts

State what was corrected, what the current profile represents, and which files show that the business is real and eligible.

Remove contradictions

Old landing pages, tracking numbers, inconsistent DBAs, and unsupported service claims can weaken the appeal packet.

Keep records local

Use the worksheets to map evidence before uploading. Review private customer and account details before deciding what to submit.

When the paid pack fits

If the issue is only one obvious typo, the free tools may be enough. If the profile, website, documents, and services need a full consistency pass, the paid worksheet pack gives you the document matching, self-audit, appeal statement, and submission log workflow.
